Research & Development team co-ordinates all research activities undertaken in various team of C-DIT and document all R&D projects. Thereby it comes in tune with the stated objectives of the institution. It also aims to advance knowledge in the socially relevant areas and technology uses through research and dissemination. With full-fledged team of scholars engaged in research, training & dissemination of knowledge the team identifies research areas and funding agencies to undertake research studies of its own.

C-DIT is a recognized Research Centre of University of Kerala and Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. At present, students from Physics, Photonics, Geography, Geo-informatics, Linguistic Computing and Development Economics are doing their Ph.D in C-DIT.

The Team also provides assistance to Engineering and Management students for their Graduate and Post-Graduate academic projects.

R&D Team is equipped with advanced research labs in Photo-Electronics/ Optical Imaging, Software Engineering, Digital Imaging and Sound Recording.
